Many of the artists who created these series remain anonymous or unknown. Thanks to pioneers like Robert Crumb and Ralph Bakshi, comic porn hit its stride in the 1970's, but only “underground” masters like Eric Stanton, Jim McQuade and Demulatto dared to tackle the BDSM and S&M motifs of the GIMP world.
The sex and violence in the stories exceed the tame titilation of Modesty Blaise or Barbarella. The artists (and writers) who created the GIMP comics included here were clearly targeting an adult audience. Sadly, these heroines usually managed to escape their captors and exact revenge, but in this section they are not so fortunate. Here you will find graphic stories featuring girls in merciless peril, depicted in the style of the comic books which many of us enjoyed in our youth – comics in which women were often tied and tormented by evil villains hell-bent on their destruction.
